Three PSA-graded copies available on Collecto. by Andrea Palma 25 May 2026 3 minutes read ## The Icon of the Japanese Base Set In the world of Pokémon cards, few versions hold the same historical weight and desirability as the Charizard Holo No Rarity Symbol #6, released in 1996 as part of the first print run of the Japanese base set. What sets it apart? The absence of the rarity symbol in the bottom right corner, which was added in later reprints to align with the Western editions. This makes every “No Rarity” card rare and sought after—especially if it features the franchise’s most iconic figure: Charizard. ## The Copies on Collecto: Condition and Appeal Collecto features three authentic copies of the Charizard Holo No Rarity #6 card, all graded by PSA. Two are graded PSA 4, and one holds an EX 5 rating—showing minor wear but maintaining an impressive visual impact thanks to its brilliant Holofoil design. Each card showcases the original Charizard artwork in shimmering Holo, catching the light beautifully. Even in mid-grade condition, this version is highly desirable due to its historical importance and the aura of nostalgia it carries for collectors worldwide. ## Market Value and Collectibility The 1996 No Rarity cards have seen sharp appreciation over the years. PSA 4 Charizard copies trade between €2,500 and €4,000 on the secondary market, with top auctions regularly surpassing that depending on provenance and eye appeal. The EX 5 version is even more scarce and consistently valued above €5,000, with a growing trend driven by collector interest from both the U.S. and Japan. Over the past 12 months, demand for Charizard Holo No Rarity cards has risen by +28%, according to auction houses like Heritage and PWCC. With a very limited number of PSA-graded copies in existence, each new appearance on the market is treated as an event by serious collectors. ## Why Collect Charizard No Rarity This is not just a card—it’s a cornerstone of Pokémon TCG history. The “No Rarity” label isn’t simply a printing quirk; it marks the first ever print run of Pokémon cards in Japan. The Charizard Holo version, in particular, blends historical relevance, cultural significance, and solid collector potential. Unlike later reprints, this card represents the very beginning of a global phenomenon and is one of the few truly grail-level items in the hobby. Owning a 1996 Charizard Holo No Rarity means acquiring one of the most important cards in the history of Pokémon collecting. The three copies available now on Collecto offer a rare opportunity to secure an iconic, limited, and steadily appreciating collectible. A true connoisseur’s choice—and one that continues to gain value and recognition with time. ## Related Articles ##### [Cards & Comics](https://collectoapp.com/en/blog/category/cards-and-comics/) ###### Collecto Editorial Team ###### 7 October 2026 ###### [EX Crystal Guardians: the sealed booster box from 2006](https://collectoapp.com/en/blog/ex-crystal-guardians-the-sealed-booster-box-from-2006/) EX Crystal Guardians: the sealed Pokémon booster box from 2006, featuring the two Gold Star… ##### [Cards & Comics](https://collectoapp.com/en/blog/category/cards-and-comics/) ###### collecto ###### 25 May 2026 ###### [One Piece: From Luffy’s Crew to Collectors’ Vaults](https://collectoapp.com/en/blog/one-pice-en/) One Piece is more than a manga — it’s a global phenomenon that has captivated… ##### [Cards & Comics](https://collectoapp.com/en/blog/category/cards-and-comics/) ###### Edoardo Falcioni ###### 25 May 2026 ###### [Pokémon Blue Version (1998)](https://collectoapp.com/en/blog/pokemon-blue-version-1998-en/) Discover why Pokémon Blue Version (1998), sealed and WATA graded 9.2 A+, is one of… ##### [Cards & Comics](https://collectoapp.com/en/blog/category/cards-and-comics/) ###### collecto ###### 25 May 2026 ###### [Topps Chrome: From Trading Cards to the Heart of Modern Sports Collecting](https://collectoapp.com/en/blog/topps-chrome-en/) Cardboard, chrome, and collectibles.
