It’s a cultural milestone and the gateway to a global phenomenon that redefined entertainment in the late 1990s. This sealed copy, certified WATA 9.2 A+, is a preserved piece of gaming history—one that continues to attract collectors from around the world. ## What Makes This Copy Unique This specific edition features the 603340-007 code, is marked Made in Japan, and includes the PixelEnd Rating with a Rattata screenshot on the back—a detail that identifies one of the most collectible print runs. Its WATA 9.2 grade for condition and A+ seal rating confirm its outstanding preservation, a rarity for a game over 25 years old. ## A Cornerstone of the Pokémon Legacy As one of the very first Pokémon RPGs, Pokémon Blue was developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo. It helped launch the first generation of Pokémon in the U.S., laying the foundation for a franchise that would captivate millions. The game is compatible with Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance, making it a cornerstone of portable gaming history. For collectors, the PixelEnd Rating and screenshot variant on the box aren’t just design choices—they’re markers of authenticity and rarity. The Made in Japan label further enhances the item’s credibility and desirability, reflecting the production standards of a golden era in gaming. ## Market Value and Trends High-grade sealed copies of Pokémon Blue are currently valued between $8,000 and $12,000, depending on variant, provenance, and condition. The rise of retro-gaming has driven a surge in demand for early Pokémon titles, especially those with rare manufacturing codes and near-mint packaging. For context, a WATA 9.8 A++ copy sold for over $84,000 in 2021, setting a benchmark for the category. While that was an exceptional case, this WATA 9.2 A+ copy stands out as a more attainable yet highly collectible piece, especially for those who understand the nuances that elevate a sealed game’s value. This Pokémon Blue Version with code 603340-007 is not just a nostalgic treasure—it’s a verified artifact of gaming culture. Its high WATA grade, iconic status, and unique attributes make it a prized addition for any serious collector. In a market that continues to grow and mature, this title serves as a tangible connection to the origins of a global phenomenon. And as many seasoned collectors know, great stories in collecting often begin with a single detail—especially when it’s sealed in time. ## Related Articles ##### [Cards & Comics](https://collectoapp.com/en/blog/category/cards-and-comics/) ###### Collecto Editorial Team ###### 7 October 2026 ###### [EX Crystal Guardians: the sealed booster box from 2006](https://collectoapp.com/en/blog/ex-crystal-guardians-the-sealed-booster-box-from-2006/) EX Crystal Guardians: the sealed Pokémon booster box from 2006, featuring the two Gold Star… ##### [Cards & Comics](https://collectoapp.com/en/blog/category/cards-and-comics/) ###### collecto ###### 25 May 2026 ###### [One Piece: From Luffy’s Crew to Collectors’ Vaults](https://collectoapp.com/en/blog/one-pice-en/) One Piece is more than a manga — it’s a global phenomenon that has captivated… ##### [Cards & Comics](https://collectoapp.com/en/blog/category/cards-and-comics/) ###### collecto ###### 25 May 2026 ###### [Topps Chrome: From Trading Cards to the Heart of Modern Sports Collecting](https://collectoapp.com/en/blog/topps-chrome-en/) Cardboard, chrome, and collectibles.
