Warner Bros. signed cel animations are among the most sought-after collectibles for lovers of classic animation. by collecto 25 May 2026 2 minutes read ## A Global Icon of Pop Culture Founded in 1923, Warner Bros. is one of the most influential film studios in the world. From film noir to modern-day blockbusters, the studio has left an indelible mark on cinematic history. But it’s in animation that Warner Bros. has created a visual universe embedded in the global imagination: the world of Looney Tunes. Characters like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Sylvester and Tweety, Tom & Jerry, Scooby-Doo, and the Flintstones have entertained generations of viewers and become true icons of both small and big screens. ## What Are Cel Animations and Why Are They So Coveted? Most Warner Bros. items on Collecto belong to the realm of classic animation: cel animations, original hand-painted drawings on acetate used in the production of animated cartoons. Each cel represents a unique frame, meticulously crafted by animators. Some are paired with original backgrounds or come with certificates of authenticity signed by legendary artists like Bob Singer, a historic figure in television animation. These pieces are not only artworks in their own right but also tangible fragments of entertainment history. ## Collectible Value and Auction Results In recent years, the market for cel animations has seen strong appreciation. An original Bugs Bunny cel can fetch between €1,000 and €5,000, depending on the scene, signature, and episode of origin. Rarer cels — especially those from holiday specials or iconic episodes — can exceed €10,000\. In 2021, a Scooby-Doo cel sold at Heritage Auctions for over $8,000\. Tom & Jerry, originally created by Hanna & Barbera and later acquired by Warner Bros., remain among the most coveted. Vintage signed frames from the 1960s and ’70s have reached up to €15,000. ## Why Collect Warner Bros Today Owning a Warner Bros. cel means connecting directly with the art of traditional animation — a world built on hand-drawn craft, creative ingenuity, and pop culture legacy. These items are not just memorabilia; they are tangible remnants of a production process that no longer exists. In an age dominated by digital animation, acetate cels represent a bridge between the past and the present, between childhood nostalgia and visual art history. At Collecto, we curate the finest Warner Bros. cel animations, featuring authentic signatures and iconic scenes. For collectors and animation enthusiasts alike, they offer a unique chance to own a true piece of cartoon history. ## Related Articles ##### [Cards & Comics](https://collectoapp.com/en/blog/category/cards-and-comics/) ###### Collecto Editorial Team ###### 7 October 2026 ###### [EX Crystal Guardians: the sealed booster box from 2006](https://collectoapp.com/en/blog/ex-crystal-guardians-the-sealed-booster-box-from-2006/) EX Crystal Guardians: the sealed Pokémon booster box from 2006, featuring the two Gold Star… ##### [Cards & Comics](https://collectoapp.com/en/blog/category/cards-and-comics/) ###### collecto ###### 25 May 2026 ###### [One Piece: From Luffy’s Crew to Collectors’ Vaults](https://collectoapp.com/en/blog/one-pice-en/) One Piece is more than a manga — it’s a global phenomenon that has captivated… ##### [Cards & Comics](https://collectoapp.com/en/blog/category/cards-and-comics/) ###### Edoardo Falcioni ###### 25 May 2026 ###### [Pokémon Blue Version (1998)](https://collectoapp.com/en/blog/pokemon-blue-version-1998-en/) Discover why Pokémon Blue Version (1998), sealed and WATA graded 9.2 A+, is one of… ##### [Cards & Comics](https://collectoapp.com/en/blog/category/cards-and-comics/) ###### collecto ###### 25 May 2026 ###### [Topps Chrome: From Trading Cards to the Heart of Modern Sports Collecting](https://collectoapp.com/en/blog/topps-chrome-en/) Cardboard, chrome, and collectibles.
